Hall Features
  • The Gilbert-Burton VFW Post 4487 rents their spacious hall to members and the public..   All proceeds go to support the Post and veterans!.

  • Have your next birthday party, wedding or meeting at the Hall, which is one of the most reasonably priced venues in the Newport/Middletown area!

HALL FEATURES:

  • 2,500 square foot hall and dance floor

  • Furniture available as part of fee:

    • ​8 round tables with 36" diameter​

    • 8 rectangular tables of 36" long  x 18" wide

    • 40 metal folding chairs

  • Electrical outlets on stage and throughout hall​

  • Hall comfortably fits 8 round tables and chairs

  • Hall capacity limit is 96 people per Fire Marshall

  • 50 square foot Stage for band/entertainment, wedding head table, or meeting table with podium.

  • Ample free parking for your guests

  • Cash bar only!  ATM is available

Hall Policies
  • Hall fee and cleaning deposit must be paid in full at least one week prior to the date of rental

  • Cancellations must be made 10 days in advance for  refund

  • $100 cleaning deposit  will be returned if hall (and kitchen if rented) is cleaned prior to leaving

    • Must be swept, mopped and all trash removed​

  • Hall capacity limit is 96 people per Fire Marshall.  Exceeding this capacity will result in immediate expulsion form the hall.

  • Prohibited:​

    • Glitter or confetti​

    • Candles/decorations with real flames

    • Foggers/fog machine

  • Alcohol/soda policy:​

    • ​No personal alcohol or soda allowed on VFW property, including outside/parking lots​

    • HOWEVER a wide selection of alcohol and other beverages are available at The Canteen. (closes at 11:30 pm)

  • Children/minors​

    • Children are welcomed to attend your event

    • NO children are allowed in the the canteen/bar area

    • No children allowed in the outside area unsupervised

  • No large gathering of guests outside/parking area​

  • All music will be maintained at an acceptable level and stopped by 11pm.

  • Damages:  You agree to pay for any and all damages caused by your guests

Pricing

Our hall is an affordable venue where you can host your next event on a budget:

​​

  • $300 Hall Rental fee plus $100 Cleaning Deposit for total of $400  (this is for the rental of the hall only)

​

  • Cleaning Deposit of $100 is returned if hall (and kitchen if rented) is cleaned prior to leaving!

​​

  • Kitchen usage requires an additional $150.00 fee

​

Booking
  • Visit the VFW Canteen and discuss your event with a bartender or Officer on staff.  They will answer any questions and work with you to ensure your event goes off without a hitch!

  • Secure your date by paying the $100 deposit

  • To save time, you may optionally click here to download and complete the application in advance before arriving.

SETUP AND DECORATIONS:

  • The hall is available to you the entire day booked.

  • Many will come earlier to setup/decorate prior to an event later in the day

  • You may want to plan time towards the end of the event for cleaning.   The hall must be fully vacated at closing time.
